About the Group
Group E brings together European giants with “underdog” surprises. Germany enters the tournament as one of the traditional title contenders, with a new generation of talents after the disappointment of 2022. Curaçao from the Caribbean is participating in its first World Cup as the smallest team in the group. The small team hopes to play attractive football and leave its mark in its historic debut. Ecuador from South America has a strong team that relies on speed and high physical fitness, and proved in the qualifiers that it is capable of defeating the big teams.
Ivory Coast, representing Africa, brings a team with extensive experience featuring players in Europe’s top leagues. The Elephants are known for their physical strength and individual skills and have a strong history in the World Cup. The group is wide open to all possibilities — Germany is the favorite, but Ecuador and Ivory Coast are capable of snatching a qualification spot.
