Saudi Arabia is preparing for this year’s Hajj season with the latest security technologies, as the special forces of the roads security revealed an advanced system for monitoring and securing the entrances to the holy capital using drones, thermal cameras, and artificial intelligence.
Modern Technologies for Protecting the Guests of the Merciful
The spokesperson for the roads security, Colonel Adel Azam Al-Mutairi, clarified that the forces apply Hajj systems and instructions with firmness and professionalism, using advanced drones equipped with thermal and night cameras for aerial monitoring, surveillance, and target tracking with precision and speed.
He added that the system also includes thermal cameras that operate under various climatic conditions using artificial intelligence algorithms, as well as live monitoring and transport vehicles that transmit real-time on-site images to operations rooms.
6 Main Security Control Centers
Colonel Al-Mutairi confirmed that the number of main security control centers at the entrances to Mecca is 6 centers, and the security control center in Al-Shamisi is one of the most important, as it contains 16 routes equipped with the latest technologies to facilitate traffic flow and reduce waiting time.
In addition, security personnel in all centers have been equipped with portable smart devices that allow reading permits and verifying individuals via facial or fingerprint biometrics, and automatically checking vehicles.
Temporary Sorting Centers at Sub-Entrances
The efforts of the roads security are not limited to the main centers only, but also include temporary security control centers at sub-entrances and rural roads leading to Mecca, as well as sorting centers before reaching the main centers, to ensure smooth traffic flow and prevent congestion.
💡 Info: Live and on-site monitoring and transport vehicles transmit live and on-site images to operations rooms and monitoring and control centers, ensuring rapid decision-making based on immediate on-site data.
These measures are part of the early preparations for the Hajj season, to provide the highest levels of security and safety for the guests of the Merciful coming from within the kingdom and abroad.
