The General Authority for Statistics announced today, Tuesday, June 9, 1447 AH — the Day of Arafat — that the total number of pilgrims for this season reached 1,707,301 pilgrims, in a majestic spiritual scene witnessed by the holy sites.

The Authority stated in its statistical report that 1,546,655 pilgrims arrived from outside the Kingdom through various entry points, while the number of domestic pilgrims from citizens and residents reached 160,646 pilgrims.

Pilgrim Statistics Details

According to the gender distribution, the number of male pilgrims reached 893,396, while the number of female pilgrims reached 813,905.

Regarding the means of arrival, 1,485,729 pilgrims arrived through air entry points — the largest number — followed by land entry points with 54,429 pilgrims, then sea entry points with 6,497 pilgrims.

Data Source

The Authority clarified that it relied on administrative records data from the Ministry of Interior as the main source for this year’s Hajj statistics, to provide accurate and reliable data according to a unified statistical model.

It is worth noting that this year’s Hajj (1447 AH) sees the Day of Arafat today, with tomorrow, Wednesday, marking the first day of Eid al-Adha.
