If you’re a resident in Saudi Arabia and want to bring your parents, spouse, or children to visit, the family visit visa is the right way to go. As of 2026, the entire application process is online through the Injaz platform — no office visits or waiting in lines.
Who Can Sponsor?
The family visit visa is limited to first-degree relatives only:
- Father and mother
- Wife or husband
- Sons and daughters
- Mother-in-law (in some cases)
It does not include siblings, uncles, aunts, or second-degree relatives.
Basic Requirements Before Applying
First: Your Iqama (Residence Permit) — Your iqama must be valid with at least 3 months remaining before expiry.
Second: Visitor’s Passport — Must be valid for at least 6 months.
Third: Proof of Relationship — Marriage certificate, birth certificate, or family register proving the relationship with the visitor.

From the Resident (Applicant):
- Copy of valid iqama
- Proof of relationship (marriage certificate / birth certificate / family register)
From the Visitor:
- Passport valid for at least 6 months
- Recent passport photo with white background (3.5 × 4.5 cm)
Steps — Applying via the Injaz Platform
Step 1: Go to the Injaz Platform
Open visa.mofa.gov.sa ← Select “Individuals” ← Then “Citizen or Resident” ← Then “Family Visit Request”.
Step 2: Enter the Resident’s Information
Enter your iqama number and expiry date, then complete visitor details exactly matching their passport.
Step 3: Choose Relationship and Visit Duration
Select the relationship from the dropdown menu (father, wife, son…), then choose the desired visit duration.
Step 4: Upload Documents
Upload all documents in PDF or JPG format with clear quality.
Step 5: Pay the Fees
Pay via Mada, SADAD, or credit card. Keep the payment receipt.
Step 6: Track Your Application
Track through the Injaz platform using the application number or your iqama number. Approval usually arrives within 3 working days.
How to Extend the Visa
If your visitor needs to stay longer, you can extend through Absher:
Absher ← Electronic Services ← Passports ← Extend Visit Visa ← Select the visa ← Pay extension fee (300 SAR) ← Confirm.
You must apply before the visa expires.
