At an elevation exceeding 3000 meters above sea level, Al-Soudah for Development stands as one of the largest tourism projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is not just an ordinary mountain destination, but a comprehensive tourism experience that blends the pristine beauty of nature with the splendor of luxury hospitality. Here, where the peaks touch the clouds and the morning mist tells stories of the mountains, a completely new tourism is born.

The Al-Soudah for Development project is one of the ambitious projects of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), aiming to transform the Al-Soudah region in the Asir region into a world-class mountain tourism destination. The area includes Jabal Al-Soudah — the highest peak in Saudi Arabia — and spans a vast area featuring dense forests, green valleys, and indescribable vistas.

Historical Overview of Al-Soudah

The Al-Soudah region is not a product of today. For centuries, these mountains were home to the Asir tribes, which cultivated their green terraces and built stone villages that breathe history. The region has long been known for its cold climate, fresh water, and dense juniper forests that give it a unique charm.

In 2021, the Public Investment Fund launched the Al-Soudah for Development project as a development company aiming to turn the region into an upscale tourism destination while preserving its heritage and natural character. Actual work began on site in 2023, and the first phase is expected to welcome visitors by 2027. The project is part of Vision 2030 to diversify the Saudi economy through tourism.
