The first trips of the Sacred Trains for the Hajj season 1447 started yesterday morning to serve the guests of Allah in their travels between Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah. The operational plan this year aims to transport more than 2 million passengers through more than 2,000 trips.
The train has a capacity of up to 3,000 passengers per train, and an operational capacity of 72,000 passengers per hour, making it one of the most densely used transportation systems in the world. It is managed by the Saudi Railways Company (SAR) with a fleet of 17 trains after completing maintenance and preparation work for the season.
The train aims to reduce traffic congestion in the sacred places, where it is expected to replace more than 50,000 bus trips during the Hajj season, which enhances the efficiency of transportation and provides a safe and reliable experience for pilgrims.
🏠 Deposit of 1.078 billion riyals in support of housing for May
The Real Estate Development Fund announced the deposit of 1 billion and 78 million riyals in the accounts of the beneficiaries of the housing support program for the month of May 2026, to support the profits of various housing program contracts and enable citizens to own homes.
Thus, the total deposited from January to May 2026 is approximately 5.4 billion riyals. Since its establishment in 1974, the fund has enabled more than 1.8 million beneficiaries to obtain their first home and contributed to raising the ownership rate to 66.24%.
🏆 Saudi Arabia wins 5 awards at the Asian Physics Olympiad
The Saudi physics team won 5 international awards in the 26th edition of the Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO 2026) in Busan, South Korea, with the participation of 209 students from 27 countries.
5 Saudi students won certificates of appreciation, raising the Kingdom’s balance in the Olympiad to 27 international awards (6 bronze medals and 21 certificates of appreciation) since the start of participation in 2012, through a partnership between “Mawhiba” and the Ministry of Education.
