How Much Are Iqama Fees in Saudi Arabia 2026?
Residence permit (iqama) renewal fees in Saudi Arabia consist of two parts — the basic iqama fee and dependent fees. Use the calculator above to find your exact amount.
Basic Iqama Fees
| Category | Annual Fee |
|---|---|
| Employee at a company or institution | 650 SAR |
| Domestic worker (driver, maid) | 600 SAR |
Dependent Fees
A fixed fee of 400 SAR per month is charged for each dependent registered on your iqama — whether it’s a spouse, children, or dependents over 18 years old.
These fees are paid in advance for the entire renewal period when submitting the request through Absher.
Example Calculation
An employee with a spouse and two children renewing their iqama for one year:
| Item | Calculation | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Basic iqama fee | 650 × 1 | 650 SAR |
| Fees for 3 dependents | 3 × 400 × 12 | 14,400 SAR |
| Total | 15,050 SAR |
When Are the Fees Paid?
Iqama and dependent fees are paid in one lump sum when submitting the renewal request through the Absher platform — installment payments are not accepted.
Available payment methods: Mada, Visa, banking apps, SADAD.
Who Is Exempt from Dependent Fees?
- Students on official scholarships
- Newborns (for a limited period)
- Special humanitarian cases by decision of the relevant authorities
Money-Saving Tip
If one of your children is over 18 and has started working, you can transfer their sponsorship to their employer — this stops the dependent fee and saves you 4,800 SAR per year per person.
